LaPorcilaia. Splendid villa apartment, for the quintessential Italian experience.

LaPorcilaia is located in central Italy on the border of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio, surrounded by green hills and meadows and fronted by an unforgettable view of Lake Bolsena. The exquisite villa apartment has stunning views from every window, with Lake Bolsena to the front and provides an impressive 130 mts, 2 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms of living space, beautifully furnished and comfortable. It is the quintessential Italian experience, an ideal situation for a romantic week away from it all, but is large enough for two couples sharing a holiday or for a family wanting to introduce their children to nature, history, culture, good food and fantastic hours spent on the shores of Lake Bolsena.

We live in England, but we try to spend as much time at the villa as possible and we plan to move there one day! The ground floor is our holiday apartment and we rent the large luxurious first floor apartment that has its own independent entrance. The apartment is large (130 square metres) and it has been beautifully renovated by using local materials such as cotto, basalt and chestnut wood. It has all the comforts of modern life, home from home, including a dish washer, washing machine and free wi fi connection. There are magnificent views from every window of the apartment and the large loggia is ideal for lazy lunches or long suppers or simply to sit and watch the sun sets on Lake Bolsena and the skies on fire, with a cool glass of Orvieto or Est! Est! Est!

Other:

Two loggias (balconies). The small one is ideal for breakfast as it catches the morning sun. The larger loggia with tables and chairs and an electric barbeque, is large enough to comfortably dine "al fresco" watching the sun set on the lake.

Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service:

Absolutely everything is included; utilities, bed linen, towels, welcome pack, after stay cleaning. During the mid part of the year, free wood is provided, but the central heating (metred) is charged when used.

LaPorcilaia is set in an acre and a quarter of land on a ridge overlooking Lake Bolsena and is surrounded by peaceful and tranquil Umbrian farmland that is often grazed by flocks of sheep. There is a gravelled drive to the villa and extensive gravelled and grassed areas where old oak trees provide welcoming shade for sitting and relaxing.

Outside Table, chairs and an electric barbeque are available in the garden if you wish to eat outside, but you can also dine on your large balcony (loggia), enjoy the cool breeze from the lake and relax with a glass of wine whilst watching the sun setting over Lake Bolsena. The loggia also has an electric barbeque. In the summer we can organize a large tub for the children to splash! Various loungers are available in the garden if you want to sunbathe or enjoy a book under a shady tree. The hamoc between the two large oak trees to the front is certainly the most comfortable way to spend an afternoon in the cool shade reading a book!
